HIKING WITH A DONKEY
Walking on the Santiago Path, following Stevenson in the Cévennes or getting wild in the heart of the Templars Land.
4 days / 3 nights - from 250.00€ per personne 

You depart from a B&B where you meet your donkey and learn what it likes, how it prefers to have the packsaddle on. The donkey is an excellent way to walk with children since it carries your luggage and it is a very good fellow traveller!
Please note that your donkey carries a maximum of 40 kg, so pack your luggage in accordance if you think that one child will need to be put on its back at the end of the walking day.

During your hike you walk either along the Santiago Path, through St Guilhem le Désert (UNESCO heritage) or you follow Stevenson on his way through the Cevennes or you walk within the Templars Land and visit a wild area where stands a strange fortified city. Everywhere, you are right in the heart of a Mediteranean landscape and flora: limestone plateau, evergreen oaks, thyme, wild lavender, asphodels ...

 
  PROGRAM
 
Each hike is chosen for the quality of the scenery and for the visit you can make. Everyday, you walk 10 to 15km from an accommodation to the following one. This is appropriate for children.

  GUIDE, LEVEL AND TECHNICAL DETAILS
   
Guided tour : A qualified local guide may come with you. He knows perfectly the area and he will share with you his passion for this land, his knowledge about the environment.

Self guided : Before departure you are given your road book and a map (1cm=250m). We book your accommodation and your meals.

The length of the stages are worked out according to the children and the donkey : 3km per hour. They are not difficult but they require to be in a good shape. Donkeys carry a maximum of 40kg therefore, you need one donkey for 2 adults and 2 kids.

You meet your donkey on day 1 at about 10.00 am and the return is planned to be on day 4 at about 4.00pm. We can organise one night prior to Day 1 if necessary.
  ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
   Accommodation is booked in gite for groups (dormitory for hikers).

Lunch: Each morning, you are given a packed lunch so you can have you picnic wherever you want.

Dinner: You have your dinner in the gites where you spend the night.
