Languedoc Nature, takes you to
the heart of a generous region, where the historic heritage
is exceptional. First of all, prehistory: numerous dolmens,
standing stones and other vestiges reveal the human presence
thousands years BC. Thanks to the Ancient Greeks, the regions
developed the agriculture through wine and olive growing (4th
century BC). Then, Romans invaded the place and exploited the
natural resources (mines) while developing roads... the medieval
period brought richness to the region, numerous villages were
built under the influence of important families who definitely
marked the land. Along the centuries, new activities rose such
as glass working, la draperie ou encore la ganterie. Some
of these activities still remain nowadays and perpetuate these
ancient traditions.
We invite you to discover the diversity of this historic
heritage through accurate tours. You will self-guide your
holidays, however you will have appointments with local guides
for some visits (visits in foreign language can be organised).
In total freedom, you will take your time while visiting a
"circle built village" or travel back through
centuries. |
